RV RouteFinder, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the RV RouteFinder mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information from you when you use our Service.

Your privacy is important to us. We are committed to being transparent about how we handle your data.

To provide our core service of calculating RV-safe routes, we need to collect specific information.

• Vehicle Information: We collect the dimensions and specifications of your vehicle, including its length, width, height, weight, and whether it is carrying propane. This data is essential for calculating a route that is safe and appropriate for your specific RV.
• Route Information: We collect your desired origin and destination. This can be entered as a text address or by using your device's location.
• Precise Location Data: With your explicit permission, we access your device's precise location (GPS). This is used for the sole purpose of conveniently setting your route's origin or destination. This feature is optional, and you may still use the app by manually entering locations. We only access your location when you are actively using this feature within the app.
• Device Identifier: To protect our service from abuse, we may receive your device's IP address or another non-personally identifiable device header.

We use the information we collect for the primary purpose of providing and improving the Service. This includes:

• Calculating Routes: Your vehicle dimensions, route information, and route preferences are used to calculate a customized travel route.
• Displaying the Map: Your route information is used to display an interactive map of your journey.
• Improving User Experience: We save your vehicle information locally on your device so you don't have to re-enter it every time you use the app.
• Preventing Abuse: We use your device's IP address or another identifier for temporary, short-term rate limiting to protect our service from misuse. This information is not stored long-term or linked to your personal data.

To provide our Service, we must share certain information with third-party service providers. We do not sell your personal and sensitive user data.

• Vercel (Proxy Server): For security, all route calculation and location search requests are sent through a proxy server hosted on Vercel. This server adds our secure API key to the request before forwarding it to TomTom. Vercel may temporarily see and log your IP address and request details for security, rate-limiting, and troubleshooting purposes. We do not store this information long-term. • TomTom: We use TomTom's services for two distinct purposes:
  • Route Calculation & Search: All requests to calculate routes or search for locations are sent to TomTom via our Vercel proxy. This includes your vehicle dimensions, origin and destination coordinates, and route preferences.
  • Map Display: To display the interactive map on the results screen, your app directly requests map image tiles from TomTom's servers. These requests include the geographic coordinates of the map area being viewed and are necessary for the map to function.
  • We rely on TomTom's privacy policy to ensure they handle this data responsibly. You can view their privacy policy here.
• Sunrise-Sunset.org API: To provide sunset times at your destination, we send your destination coordinates and departure date to the public sunrise-sunset.org API.

• Security: We are committed to handling your data securely. All data transmitted between your device, our Vercel proxy, and our service providers is sent using modern cryptography (HTTPS). By using a proxy server for route calculations, we ensure our TomTom API key is not exposed on your device for these sensitive requests.
• Retention: Your vehicle information is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data remains on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the application. We do not store this information on our servers.
• Deletion: Because we do not have user accounts and do not store your data on our servers, all personally entered data (RV dimensions) can be deleted by clearing the application's data from your device settings or by uninstalling the app.

Our Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
